The Small Tesla Model Y Upgrade That Makes a Big Difference Tesla Model Y owners appreciate the vehicle’s minimalist design, spacious cargo area, and advanced technology. However, after spending more time with the vehicle, many owners discover that some small details could be improved — especially when using the car at night. Among Tesla owner communities, lighting upgrades are frequently mentioned as one of the most practical improvements. In a recent Tesla Model Y accessories discussion on Reddit, owners shared their favorite upgrades, including solutions that improve daily convenience and usability. While the factory trunk lighting works well in normal conditions, the rear cargo area can still feel dim when loading groceries, luggage, camping gear, or outdoor equipment after sunset. Why Upgrade Your Tesla Model Y Trunk Lighting ? Better visibility when loading items at night Easier access to luggage and cargo A more premium interior experience A simple upgrade witho...

The center touchscreen is one of the most important parts of the Tesla Model Y Juniper interior. Navigation, climate settings, entertainment, vehicle controls, and driving information are all accessed through this single display. Because it is used so frequently, the screen is also constantly exposed to fingerprints, glare, dust, and accidental scratches. For owners who want to protect the display while making it more comfortable to use, the Wigoo Matte Screen Protector offers a practical solution. Designed for compatible 16-inch Model Y Juniper displays , this protector combines a matte anti-glare finish with 9H-rated tempered glass. It is intended for the Model Y Juniper Premium and Performance versions specified on the product page. Instead of simply covering the screen, it aims to improve the everyday viewing experience while providing a replaceable protective layer over the original display. A Matte Surface That Reduces Distracting Reflections Glare is one of the most com...

For months, there has been a surprisingly large question surrounding Tesla’s new six-seat Model Y L in Australia: just how many people are actually buying it? Tesla does not normally break down its Australian deliveries by individual Model Y variants, making it difficult to determine how much of the Model Y’s recent sales surge has been driven by the new long-wheelbase model. That changed in July 2026. For the first time, Australian electric-vehicle sales data separately reported the Model Y L, providing an early glimpse at how the stretched, three-row Tesla is performing in one of its first export markets. And the result is more significant than the raw number might initially suggest. The Model Y L Has Arrived at Exactly the Right Time Tesla launched the Model Y L in Australia on March 13, 2026, priced from A$74,900 before on-road costs . Unlike the standard five-seat Model Y, the L version adds a longer wheelbase, a third row and a six-seat 2-2-2 configuration. It is sold...

Tesla has taken a fundamentally different approach to vehicle interiors. Instead of filling the dashboard with traditional buttons, gauges, and physical controls, the company has increasingly centralized the driving experience around large, high-resolution displays. For Tesla owners, the touchscreen is much more than an infotainment system. It serves as the primary interface for vehicle controls, navigation, entertainment, climate settings, driver-assistance visualization, and an expanding range of software-based features. As Tesla's lineup continues to evolve, display sizes and configurations are also becoming increasingly diverse. From the 15.4-inch screen in the Model 3 to the larger QHD display introduced in higher-spec Model Y variants, and from the massive Cybertruck display to the screen-centric design of the upcoming Cybercab, Tesla's approach to in-car displays reflects a broader shift toward software-defined vehicles. This guide breaks down the touchscreen sizes, ...

For families shopping for a large electric SUV, the most interesting decision is not always between two new vehicles. Sometimes it is between a newer, simpler model and an older vehicle from a higher segment. That is exactly the choice raised by a recent discussion in the Tesla Model Y community. One owner explained why a new Model Y L Launch Edition made more sense for his family than buying a used Hardware 4 Model X. The decision is particularly useful because it goes beyond specifications. The owner has three children, currently drives a Mazda CX-9 with second-row captain's chairs, values Full Self-Driving, expects to keep vehicles for many years, and already owns a large roof box for occasional extra cargo needs. Those details change the equation. Instead of asking which Tesla is technically more advanced, the better question becomes: which vehicle fits the family's actual pattern of use? Key Takeaways The Model Y L can make more sense than a used Model X when p...

Tesla is quietly expanding one of the most useful features in its electric vehicle lineup. The Model Y Premium in the United States and Puerto Rico can now support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing owners to use energy stored in the vehicle’s high-voltage battery to power external devices and appliances. The update was not announced through a major Tesla product launch. Instead, the option appeared in Tesla’s online vehicle configurator, making it a relatively low-key addition to the Model Y lineup. According to recent reports, the system can deliver up to 2.4 kW of power through Tesla’s optional Outlet Adapter. The move brings V2L to a more mainstream Model Y configuration, although several limitations remain. What Is V2L? Vehicle-to-Load, commonly abbreviated as V2L, allows an electric vehicle to function as a portable power source. Instead of simply receiving electricity through its charging port, the vehicle can send stored battery energy back out to exter...

A seven-seat Tesla Model Y L costs $61,990 in its launch-series form. The regular Model Y can cost as little as $39,990, creating a price gap of up to $22,000. That difference makes the buying choice clear for some people and difficult for others. The Model Y L adds more usable passenger space, better rear-seat comfort, and several premium features. Yet it offers nearly the same range and charging speed as the regular Model Y. The key question is simple: will you use the extra space often enough to recover roughly $10,000 or more in value? The Tesla Model Y L Costs Much More Up Front Model Y L launch-series pricing starts at $61,990 The Model Y L currently starts at $61,990 in its launch series. This price may fall when Tesla releases a standard version, since launch models include extra equipment, services, paint choices, and accessories. The current package includes one year of supervised Full Self-Driving, one year of Premium Connectivity, and one year of free Supercharg...

Two Different Answers to the Same EV Problem The electric SUV market has reached a point where simply being electric is no longer enough. Buyers are increasingly comparing efficiency, charging time, interior usability, software, highway range and the quality of the charging experience before deciding which vehicle deserves a place in the driveway. The Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6 are particularly interesting because they approach the same market from different directions. Tesla built the Model Y around efficiency, software and a tightly integrated ownership ecosystem. Kia developed the EV6 on a dedicated electric-vehicle platform designed to make high-speed charging and long-distance usability central parts of the vehicle's identity. That distinction matters because EV specifications can be misleading when viewed in isolation. A vehicle with a higher peak charging rate is not automatically faster on a road trip. A vehicle with a larger battery does not necessarily travel farth...
